On February 2, 2010 a meeting between Ms. Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General of UNESCO, and Mr. Sergey Koblov, ISEDC’ Executive Director held in Paris at the  headquarters of UNESCO. The meeting was attended by Marcio Barbosa, UNESCO Deputy Director-General, Walter Erdelen, UNESCO Deputy Director-General of on Sciencies, Osman Benchikh, Head of the UNESCO Program on Energy. From ISEDC side the meeting attended also by Vladimir Kalamanov.

During the meeting the sides discussed prospects for deepening cooperation on energy issues, including energy efficiency, access to energy, energy poverty and climate change, as well as priorities for the development of ISEDC.

It was confirmed that UNESCO, in accordance with its mandate, will expand its activities in the field of global energy issues and climate change. Ms. Bokova stressed the importance of the Center and requested the staff of UNESCO, together with ISEDC experts to develop an action plan on the program "Energy Efficiency and Climate Change”.
