On 7 December, the Joint International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Roundtable meeting devoted to long-term prospects of energy took place in the Exhibition Hall Electrification of the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow, with organizational support of the International Sustainable Energy Development Center (ISEDC). Dr. Fatih Birol, the Chief Economist Economic of the IEA, and Mr. Yuri Baron, the Deputy Director of the Department of Government Energy Policy and Energy Efficiency, were in the chair of the event. The main topics for discussion were: the new 2009 edition of the World Energy Outlooks (WEO), released on 10 November 2009, and the new Energy Strategy of Russian Federation for the Period of up to 2030.
