Centre Activity

In accordance with Agreement between the Government of Russian Federation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) concerning the establishment and operation of the International Sustainable Energy Development Centre (in Moscow, RF) as category 2 centre under the auspices of UNESCO as of 05 September 2008 the principle objectives of the Centre activity are the following:

-          conduct studies and information exchange to improve energy sustainable development policy efficiency and energy poverty eradication; identify challenges and threats to the energy sustainable development and elaborate recommendations to eliminate and reduce them;

-          facilitate harmonization of energy strategies goals of various countries; expand cooperation with  international organizations and countries to identify and harmonize long term interests and goals of energy development;

-          elaborate and apply new techniques of analysis and assessment of trends and  energy development scenarios building.

 

The following basic lines of activity and ISEDC tasks are specified to reach these objectives:

-          energy sustainable development  through the energy use improving efficiency;

-          the global energy security;

-          social and natural environment and energy (from environmental security to environmental efficiency).
